Health & Safety

Scarpia Music is dedicated to ensuring that the welfare of all of it's clients and staff are fully looked after above and beyond the legal requirements.

To accomplish this we have a number of checks and insurances in place as as well as attending specific training to keep up to date with changes in the laws and other educational governing bodies.

DBS - We hold Enhanced DBS certificates with the update service from the Isle of Wight Council, and Pertemps for Plymouth City Council.*

Child Safeguarding & Protection - We have received training to Level 2 for Children's Safeguarding (click to view the certificate)

Public Liability Insurance - £10,000,000 cover with Aviva via the Musicians Union.*

Health & Safety Policy

Our music teachers, whether employed by a school, Music Service, Hub, privately or as a self employed person, take responsibility for their own health and safety while on the school's (or any other) premises and ensure that they comply with the school's Health & Safety procedures while they are on-site. However this does not negate the school or employer's responsibility to them under the Health & Safety at Work Act. The Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 places overall responsibility for health and safety with the employer.
